Welcome to the Madison County Amateur Radio Club website.  A mission of the club is to promote amateur radio by way of educational programming and activities.  MCARC is an affiliated club with the ARRL.  Membership in the club is open to all qualified amateur radio operators whether they belong to the ARRL or not.  MCARC also provides the KE8RV Memorial Repeater (147.285) as an open repeater.  It's located in London, Ohio with three additional remote receive sites throughout the county.

May 2008 Meeting

The next monthly MCARC meeting will be on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 PM  in the Madison County Hospital meeting room.  The topic will be "Madison County Hospital Emergency Operations".  The pre-meeting dinner will be at the Perkins restaurant beginning at 5:45pm.  The hospital emergency plan director will be meeting with club members to review how amateur radio operators can be integrated into their emergency plan.  A tour of the amateur radion station located at the hospital will be included, with hands-on training of how the radio operates.

Exam Success!

The ARECC Em-Comm and FCC Amateur License exams hosted by the MCARC on April 5th were a great success.  11 people took the Em-Comm exams. Five went from uncertified to ARECC II, five earned ARECC I, and one person went from being certified at level I up to level II. Sixteen new certification levels were obtained.  President Don - WA8OWR and Madison County EC Forrest - N8OIC were on hand to congratulate all on passing. Of special interest we had an Australian ham who passed levels I & II.
For the license exams we hosted eight individuals. One non-ham earned his General passing elements 2 & 3. Four passed the General and three passed the extra. 14 total exams were administered.
Congratulations to club members Terri - N8TLK who upgraded to General, and Gary - KD8EAE who upgraded to Extra.
